The Body

The body and mind are inseparable. For simplicity, let’s call this the "bottom-up influence": how the body shapes the mind. Movement, breathwork, and meditation are powerful ways to harness this connection.

Movement, our body’s natural function, builds resilience, self-esteem, and well-being, impacting our mental state.

And breathwork, for instance, allows us to calm the nervous system, signaling safety to the body. Meditation helps train focus and resist impulses.

Together, these practices create balance and foster a healthy, connected mind and body.

Here you can learn about the different ways we can train the body.

Why fitness coaching makes a difference.

Online coaching offers flexible, personalized training that fits your schedule and goals, whether at home or the gym. With structured workouts, regular check-ins, and form feedback, you stay accountable and confident, eliminating guesswork and gym anxiety. It’s an affordable way to receive expert guidance, stay motivated, and build strength at your pace—without wasting time or breaking the bank.

Strength & Conditioning

Strength training builds foundational power and resilience, enhancing the body’s ability to handle daily challenges and excel in physical activities. Through targeted exercises, it increases muscle strength and endurance, improves posture, and supports joint stability. Strength training is a powerful tool for boosting self-confidence and is an essential component of balanced fitness, promoting both physical and mental resilience. It’s perfect for desk workers, gamers, or anyone who wants to counteract the effects of prolonged sitting by building a strong, mobile body capable of handling diverse movement demands.

What strength & conditioning is made up of (many of these overlap a little!)….

  • Strength Training: Training designed to improve your ability to exert maximum force against resistance.

  • Hypertrophy Training: Training designed to increase your muscle size.

  • Conditioning, Endurance & Cardio: Training designed to improve overall endurance, work capacity, and cardiovascular efficiency. Cardio is a component of conditioning but not limited to it, higher intensity cardio bursts (like HIIT) differ from steady-state cardio.

  • Plyometrics Training: Training involving explosive, high-intensity movements that develop power and speed.

  • Mobility Training: Mobility supports all forms of physical training by improving range of motion, joint health, and movement quality. It’s essential in strength and conditioning routines to maintain form and prevent injury. Mobility also complements recovery, as it reduces muscle stiffness and promotes blood flow to fatigued areas.

Yoga, bodyweight exercises, and mobility training enhance the mind-body connection, improving mobility and guiding your body through full ranges of motion. This practice builds isometric strength, trains the nervous system through breathwork and meditation, and promotes recovery. Yoga is a perfect complement to weight training, allowing you to build fun, functional skills while balancing physical and mental well-being. It’s also ideal for desk workers, gamers, or anyone looking to gently reintroduce movement into their routine, helping counteract stiffness and tension from prolonged sitting.

Yoga with me combines Hatha and Vinyasa flows, dynamic mobility, and breathwork for a balanced practice. Each session can include a mix of:

  • Flow & Movement: Traditional yoga flows to build strength, flexibility, and focus.

  • Dynamic Mobility: Exercises to improve range of motion and joint health.

  • Breathwork & Recovery: Breathwork to calm the mind, with static holds for deep stretching and recovery.

  • Skill Work & Fun: Occasionally, we’ll tackle skills like handstands or playful challenges to keep things interesting.

What is mobility?

  • Loaded Mobility: Using light weights or resistance to increase strength and flexibility at end ranges of motion, enhancing stability and control.

  • Joint Circles and Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs): Slow, controlled movements that improve joint health and increase active range of motion.

  • Dynamic Stretching: Active movements that stretch muscles and prepare joints for activity by moving through a full range of motion. (Yoga)

  • Static Stretching: Holding stretches to increase flexibility and allow muscles to relax, usually performed after a workout or on recovery days. (Yoga)

  • Functional Movement Patterns: Exercises that mimic natural movement patterns to improve functional mobility and stability in daily activities. (Yoga)

  • Foam Rolling and Myofascial Release: Self-massage techniques to release tightness and improve tissue quality, promoting better movement and recovery

Many of these are found in both my yoga practices and workout plans.

My yoga and mobility classes provide personalized instruction, enhancing flexibility, balance, and body awareness with tailored adjustments and expert guidance. I will help you deepen each movement, understand alignment, and build confidence safely, whether you’re a beginner or experienced. Plus, classes offer accountability, reduce stress, and give you a focused space (and a personal space when learning online) to disconnect from daily distractions and connect with your body, supporting both physical and mental well-being.
